题尔遐园居序

东篱把酒黄昏后，

有暗香盈袖。

莫道不消魂，

帘卷西风，人比黄花瘦。

愁多知夜长，

酒多知忧更。

何人解解我，不顾欢娱，

随风向南行去。

Translation:

Ode to the Cottage of Tranquil Farmland

As dusk descends, by the eastern fence, wine is poured,

With a subtle fragrance filling the sleeves.

Say not it fails to stir the soul,

As the curtain flutters in the west wind, faces grow lean like flowers gone old.

In abundant worries, one learns the night is long,

In ample wine, one finds sorrow grows strong.

Who can untie my knots, disregarding joys and pleasures,

Following the wind, southward I wander, unfurled.
