Ripples on the river sand, in the late night rain,

On the long sandbank, no sight of anyone,

Only a few cries of birds in complaint.

Faroff dreams intrude at dawn,

Awakening, I hear the village bells anew.

A mountain scene, veiled in mist,

Unmoving, leaning against the clear shade,

Yet, I must return.

By the water, the pines and trees show their age,

On the rocks, moss and berries grow thick,

In this moment, the moss and berries bring sorrow.

This feeling has no solution,

Just as it leaves my brow,

It settles in my heart.
