Title: The Impact of Social Media on Adolescent Mental Health

Abstract:

This study aims to explore the impact of social media on the mental health of adolescents. Through literature review and empirical research, this study found that there is a certain correlation between social media use and adolescent depression, anxiety, and selfperception. Furthermore, negative information and social comparison on social media may also affect the mental health of adolescents. However, some research also suggests that social media can be a platform for adolescents to obtain social support and build positive relationships. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening the guidance of adolescent social media use by families and schools, cultivating healthy social media habits, and emphasizing the importance of mental health education.
