| 而愧志之愿 | And my humble aspirations fulfilled. |
| 臣不胜犬马之劳 | Your servant labors like a dog or horse, |
| 但愿陛下 | But may Your Majesty |
| 少加恤念 | Take pity on my plight, |
| 以阻臣之愧志 | To prevent my aspirations from being shamed. |
| 愿病患于民间 | May the afflictions be borne by the people, |
